Cheaten ist nur sinnvoll, wenn man damit Event-Pokémon bekommt. Ansonsten ist es eigentlich nur Selbstschädigung, da die EP eines trainierten Pokémon höher sind als die, eines "Sonderbonbon-Pokémon". Auch meisterbälle cheaten ist nicht sinnvoll, da man mit dem richtigem Ball auch eine gute Fangchance hat. Und Pokémon muss man nicht cheaten, man kann sie auch normal fangen.
